ANS RS T® ITE101TlLY AS I) C I,ENGE G Q~STI®NS
Can there be several projects within one application proposal?
An application proposal may contain several closely related project components that are necessary
to accomplish the overall project goal. Projects that are not closely related or dependant on each
other should be submitted in separate applications.
Can the same application be submitted for funding from the LWRPMP and Feedlot Challenge
Grant Programs?
No. A similar application received from the same geographical area will be disqualified from
funding consideration.
Are cost share projects eligible for Challenge Grant funding?
Cost share projects are eligible for LWRPMP Challenge Grant funding, but are not eligible for
Feedlot Challenge Grant Program funding.
Can project expenses that are incurred prior to Challenge Grant funding be used as match or
be paid by Grant funds?
No. Match and Grant funds can only be used during the grant period October 1, 1998 -September
30, 2000.
Can Challenge Grant funds be used to employ staff?
Yes, but the state assumes no obligation as to their performance, and employment after the end of
the grant period (September 30, 2000) or Grant funds have been expended, whichever comes first.
After the Grant period is over, what will happen to equipment or supplies purchased with
Challenge Grant funds?
The applicant may retain equipment or supplies purchased with Challenge Grant funds so long as
the equipment or supplies are used for LWRPMP activities.
When will successful Challenge Grant applicants receive funds?
The designated fiscal agent of successful Challenge Grant applications will receive funding checks
in about seven to ten days after signed grant agreements are returned to the BWSR.
Who can be contacted to respond to any additional guidance needed to submit an application?
Any questions or concerns should be directed to your Board Conservationist. You should discuss
your project with your Board Conservationist before submitting it to them.
What are my chances of being funded?
Challenge Grants in recent years have been very competitive. Approximately 1 out of every 3.5
applications are full or partially funded.
H:99CHGR
18
