The Game and Fish Bill. is in the special session which <br />includes the fish stocking amendment and underwater video camera. Rod stated that <br />snowmobile studs do an incredible amount of damage on state trails. Rod reported that the <br />Environmental Quality Board (EQB) met, the feedlot Generic Environmental Impact Statement <br />(GEIS) and drainage will be on the agenda. Rod stated that Lee Coe serves on the wolf round <br />table. Lee stated that the wolf issue is controversial, the committee discussed the process and <br />brainstormed issues. The next wolf committee meeting will be held in Ely at the wolf center. <br />Lee stated that he looks forward to being a part of the wolf committee and the consensus process. <br />Rod suggested that BWSR sponsor a round table for drainage. Some elements of the lakes <br />initiative was funded for lakeshore conservation easements and no-net loss for public shoreline. <br />Rod stated that the Devils Lake letter was signed by four agencies, he has received <br />correspondence from North Dakota's governor and they are not happy. Rod said that an <br />invitation has been received to tour that area, he suggested DNR, BWSR, and the Red River <br />Basin Board tour the area and continue discussions on this issue. Rod stated. that the Governor's <br />office advised DNR of a transition package. Rod stated that he has received correspondence <br />from the Center for American Experiment, a conservative think-tank. The Center for American <br />Experiment wants to set up committees for evaluations of all state agencies, including boards, <br />Rod is not in favor of this. Rod reported that the Red River mediation will start the first part of <br />June, drainage and. water management round table, he welcomed board members to attend and <br />observe this process. <br />Marv Tripp arrived at the meeting at 10:25 a.m. <br />Committee Recommendations <br />City of Rosemount -Comprehensive Wetland Protection and Management Plan -Phil Belfiori <br />gave a brief overview of the plan. Darrell Bruggman reported that the wetland committee has <br />reviewed the City of Rosemount's Comprehensive Wetland Protection and Management Plan <br />** and recommends approval of the plan. Moved by Darrell Bruggman, seconded by Dwain Otte, <br />98-27 to approve the City of Rosemount's Comprehensive Wetland Protection and Management Plan. <br />Motion passed on a voice vote. <br />Sand Hill River Watershed District and Buffalo Red River Watershed District Plan Revisions - <br />Ginny Imholte reported that the plans tivere reviewed by the northern subcommittee and <br />recommends approval; however, BWSR did not receive DNR's comments on the Buffalo Red <br />River Watershed District. Ginny stated that there has been an outstanding relationship between <br />** DNR and Buffalo Red River Watershed District. Moved by Ginny Imholte, seconded by Lee <br />98-28 Coe, to approve the Sand Hill River Watershed District and Buffalo Red River Watershed <br />District Plan Revisions. Motion passed on a voice vote. <br />Chair Roer called for a break in the meeting at 10:3 a.m. The meeting reconvened at 10:50 a.m. <br />
