Kohlman Basin <br />Brad Lindaman stated that the 1997/1998 project is complete except for sediment removal from the <br />manhole north of Beam Avenue. <br />1998 Maintenance of Existin_~CIP's <br />Lower Afton Road Flume Repair: Brad stated that the Form of Agreement is not ready for Board <br />signature because adjustments need to be made to the originally-proposed 4-foot high wall anchor <br />in order to keep its cost within original estimates. <br />Tanners Lake Flood Protection : Brad reported that options for homeowners within the flood zone <br />will most likely involve some kind of berm or waterproof retaining wall located close to the house. <br />Once accepted by each homeowner, he will present the final documents to the Board for review. <br />Louise Watson reported on the July 28 meeting that was attended by representatives of Landfall, <br />Oakdale, Washington County Sheriffs Department, and the DNR. The Watershed District has <br />agreed to work with the City of Landfall to establish the high lake level. <br />Tanners Lake Outlet Pipe Cleaning: Brad stated that the Tanners Lake outlet pipe will take place <br />next Monday. He is certain that debris, not sediment, is causing the backup. The estimated <br />$3,000 cost will be paid from project maintenance funds. <br />Tanners Lake Phase II <br />Motion: Roger Lake moved, Jack Frost seconded, to approve Change Order No. 3 submitted by <br />Lametti & Sons, Inc. The motion was carried. <br />Brad also reported that the mechanical mixer has been installed by staff. <br />Beltline Sewer HydraulicsBeltline Sewer Repair <br />Motion: Jack Frost moved, Roger Lake seconded, to approve the bid of Paragon Constructor, <br />Inc., as the apparent low bidder for the 1998-1999 Beltline Interceptor Repair Project. The motion <br />was carried. <br />Gervais Lakeshore Restoration <br />Cliff Aichinger displayed the sign that was created as part of the interpretive program for Gervais <br />Mill Pond. <br />Cliff also reported that staff have been handling a variety of calls generated by interest in the <br />Shoreland Restoration Project. Staff involvement has ranged from providing advice on applying <br />these concepts to an individual site, to recognizing that a situation exists where the individual needs <br />help to correct a legitimate erosion problem. The DNR and University of Minnesota are not <br />providing this kind of help, and he feels a discussion is in order to clarify the level of District <br />involvement in the future. He has asked Bill Bartodziej to lead this discussion at next month's <br />meeting. <br />South Gervais County Road B2 Floodin4 <br />Although this started out as a county/city road issue, Cliff Aichin~er clarified that the District <br />became involved when staff tied it in with the need to floodproof two homes in the vicinity. Staff <br />gathered data to show what is actually happening and to identify what could be done to alleviate the <br />problem.
