BWSR Meeting Minutes <br />June 23, 1999 <br />Page Two <br />Chair Roer called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. <br />** Adopt Agenda -Moved by Glenn Annexstad, seconded by Jim Dahlvang to adopt the <br />99-33 agenda as presented. Motion passed on a voice vote. <br />intee of ay 26, 1999 - It was noted that some board members did not receive <br />** page seven of the minutes due to a copying error. Moved by Ginny Imholte, seconded <br />99-34 by Barb Cobb, to approve the minutes of May 26, 1999, subject to review of page <br />seven. Motion passed on a voice vote. <br />eo <br />Chair Roer reported that she attended a portion of the all staff meeting at Camp Ripley <br />in Little Falls. An agenda item at the staff meeting was a panel discussion with LGUs. <br />Chair Roer stated that this was a good opportunity to hear LGU's viewpoints on various <br />issues. Chair Roer attended the Wetland Committee meeting to discuss rule review. <br />She attended the RIM Reserve Advisory Committee meeting. Chair Roer attended the <br />EQB/Citizen Advisory Committee meeting to review the draft report on GETS animal <br />issues. Chair Roer attended a quarterly breakfast meeting hosted by Metro Council. <br />Ted Mondale and Karen Studders were also in attendance at this meeting; an <br />interesting meeting with metro concentration. Chair Roer attended the MASWCD <br />leadership session. She attended a hearing on June 21 regarding the establishment of <br />Comfort Lake/Forest Lake WMO. <br />Chair Roer was pleased to announce that Ginny lmholte was reappointed to BWSR as <br />a watershed district representative and Darrell Bruggman was reappointed as a county <br />commissioner representative. Chair Roer was also pleased to announce that Leland <br />Coe was appointed as a citizen member. <br />Executive Director -Ron Harnack stated that drainage issues and WCA issues are <br />evolving concerns. The interagency (DNR, PCA, BWSR, MDA, MDH) breakfast <br />meeting tomorrow will address and discuss these issues. Ron stated that the Red <br />River mediation group met last week with great progress being made on project issues. <br />Specific mention of the Bois de Sioux River Watershed District where the group is <br />working very well together and the Red Lake Watershed District where three working <br />groups are being facilitated by Extension. Ron stated that agency staff are committed <br />to making these plans a success. Ron reported that the International Joint Commission <br />(IJC) met (Ron Shelito attended) in fnternational Falls to discuss watershed <br />organization interest on Rainy Lake. There seemed to be interest in enhancing <br />coordination and communication and technical assistance for the area. IJC has the <br />issue under consideration. IJC held a similar meeting in Winnipeg relating to the Red <br />River of the North. Ron attended the meeting and the sense of the group was that there <br />
