~~
,.~
GRASS LAKE WATER MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATION
AGENDA ITEM
Date: 7/22/99
Prepared by: Karl Keel
Item: A-2
Organizational Items
Item Description: Staff Reports on Major Construction Projects affecting GLWMO
The following is a summary of construction and/or development issues in each City that may impact the
watershed.
1) Roseville
Dale Street Pathway. Roseville is completing plans to construct a new 8-foot bituminous
pathway along Dale Street from Larpenteur Avenue to County Road C. The segment of this
trail within GLWMO, from County Road B-2 to County Road C, will be constructed on the
west side of Dale Street. A public hearing will be held on July 26, 1999. Construction is
anticipated in the year 2000. No changes to local drainage patterns are anticipated as part of
this project.
Woodlyn Avenue Pond. Earlier, it was reported that a new stormwater treatment pond would
be constructed adjacent to Ladyslipper Park and Lake Owasso as part of the reconstruction of
Woodlyn Avenue west of Rice Street. While the pond was designed, approved, and bids
taken, the City has not been able to acquire the necessary easements to construct the proposed
ponds. The ponds were originally to be constructed across three properties. Despite support
for the purpose of the pond, not all property owners were willing to allow pond construction
on their property. In lieu of the pond, a large sump manhole will be constructed in the
Woodlyn Avenue cul-de-sac to provide some stormwater pre-treatment upstream of Lake
Owasso.
2) Shoreview
A report by Mark Maloney on City of Shoreview projects is attached.
