The Managers wish to be proactive in areas where redevelopment will most <br />likely impact the management of water resources within the planning window. This task will identifi~ and <br />prioritize such areas, and seek to minimize impacts from redevelopment. <br />3.1 Develo~,~eneralized mates of existing and future land use. GLWMO to provide AreView files: minimal <br />editing to be done by Barr. <br />3.2 Identify community redevelopment areas, and related water resource issues. <br />3.3 Identify_public infrastructure redevelopment areas. and related water resoiu~ce issues. <br />3.4 Establish goals and policies pertaining to redevelopment planning. <br />3.5 Identify proactive activities and initiatives intended to minimize the water qualit<~ or other water <br />management impacts of redevelopment. 1 <br />1 ¢ --f <br />Task 4.0 -Public Information and Participation Strategies. The Managers wish to use existing public <br />commissions and conunittees as advisory groups dt>ring WMP preparation, and WMP implementation. The <br />GLWMO public information program will emphasize effective use of available information rather than aetiye <br />teaching, and create an on-going mechanism for public infornation. <br />4.1 Attend public meetings during the planning process. Fifteen meetings of public commissions are <br />expected (six in task 1.1.3 above, nine more this task), together with presentation of the draft plan at <br />one council meeting in each city and at a public open house. Barr to prepare presentation materials and <br />attend two city council meetings and one open house and prepare materials for GLWMO Board staff to <br />attend the six public commission meetings. <br />4.2 Create a "client list" of persons and organizations that would benefit from specialized or continuing <br />information from the WMO. <br />4.3 Create a `'source hst" of information types and locations, and a means for keeping the source list <br />current. <br />4.4 Establish information strategies intended to put the clients together with the sources. <br />4.~ Establish newsletter and other publication >;oals and strategies. <br />Task 5.0 B Evaluation and Accountability. The Managers wish to establish a method for on-going <br />performance review for the WMO and for the member communities. This task will facilitate development of <br />that system, and design a data plan to support the evaluation. <br />~.1 Develo~an outcome-based evaluation concept for discussion and debate by the Managers.
