Barr Engineering Company
4700 West 77th Street • Mi
~~~~ Phone: 952-832-2600 • Fax
Minneapolis, MN • Hibbing,
Memorandum
nneapolis, MN 55435-4803
: 952-832-2601
MN • Duluth, MN • Ann Arbor, MI • Jefferson City, MO
To: Grass Lake WMO Board and Staff
From: Karen Chandler
Subject: Discussion Topics for May 4"'Board Meeting
Date: April 26, 2000
This memorandum presents the items I would like to have the Board discuss at their May 4, 2000 meeting.
The packet you're receiving includes the following items, in addition to this memorandum:
1. Executive Summary
2. Figures
3. Implementation Table (Table 6-1)
I will be bringing to the meeting a revised schedule/timeline for the plan. I also hope to bring along
summaries of the plan implementation tasks, responsibilities and costs to provide the Board (and possibly
others) with an overview of the plan.
Discussion Items
Executive Summary
It is our understanding that the Board's goal for the Executive Summary is to create a "stand alone"
document for distribution to the public and other interested parties. We organized the Executive Summary
differently than the rest of the plan, telling a brief story about the major resources and then summarizing
the more important watershed-wide issues, goals and initiatives. Anew figure was created to be included
with the Executive Summary that could be copied in either color or black and white (Figure 0).
Questions for the Board:
1. Does the Executive Summary provide the right amount of information? Is it easy to read and
understand?
2. Should we include Figures 7, 8 and 9 in the Executive Summary ("boat guy" figures, as revised)?
