Minnesota DEpA~'L1 N'T' ®F' 1\A 1'IJRAL R i'.~,7®V d~~ii~ <br />General Permit <br />for 'T'emporary Water Appropriations <br />Department of <br />Natural Resources <br />Attached is General Permit 97-0005, which authorizes temporary water appropriation for construction <br />dewatering, landscaping, dust control, and hydrostatic testing. of pipelines, tanks and wastewater <br />ponds. To be included under General Permit 97-0005 the project must meet the following criteria: <br />a) The Area Hydrologist for the county in which the project is located must be notified <br />five days prior to the start of pumping. The area hydrologist must determine that the project <br />will have a minimal potential for impacts to the resource and determine that the project <br />would not require a separate individual permit. Attached is a form that can be used to <br />satisfy notification requirements and provide the necessary information for the Area <br />Hydrologist's certification. Failure to provide the requested information will delay <br />approval under this permit. <br />b) Water appropriations cannot exceed 50 million gallons, <br />c) Water appropriations must be completed within one year from the start of pumping, <br />d) Water volumes must be measured and. reported upon completion of the project. A $50 <br />water use report processi~ig fee is required fur i,rojecis ~ia~ exceed i ~ ti~iicn gaiions. <br />Attached is their form to be used for reporting water use. <br />Please be sure to read all provisions and limitations that are part of General Permit 97-0005.
