Lake as 866.79 in 1996. Normal water from the Grass Lake report 881.9. The existing
culvert under Vadnais Boulevard, into the wetland, is 879. The County to each of the
meeting participants will provide relevant portions of the 1990 report. Cliff will provide
Terry with a copy of the District's Twin Lake Report (1993) for review.
MnDOT's "unweave the weave" project has a current tentative letting date of 2005.
Marc indicated the Rice/I-694 bridge and ramp work should precede the "weave" project.
60% final plans have been delivered to MnDOT by the project consultant, with 90%
plans expected in 2-3 months. Rod and Marc emphasized that the timeline is short for
identifying any solutions to be incorporated into the "weave" project plans. The limits of
the MnDOT project are Lahore on the east to east of Rice Street on the west. These
limits may not provide a direct opportunity to address possible W. Vadnais outlet
solutions. MnDOT has determined Larry Pond; located in the interchange of I-694 and
35E, may be undersized to fulfill volume and water quality requirements for the project
and is negotiating with the City of Little Canada to increase the size of the existing pond
located south of the Little Canada maintenance shop on Country Drive. This pond has a
3-sided concrete weir control structure and may need to be re-sized to accommodate the
additional MnDOT flows. Greg reported that at present there appears to be a pipe
connecting the median of I-694 to a ditch located between former Knox and Levitz
Furniture, just south of Country Drive. FOLLOW-UP ACTIONS: Rod and Marc will
discuss this issue with Matt Wassman (consultant engineer) and Jeff Gibbons ("weave"
project manager for MnDOT). MnDOT will arrange a meeting with the County, SPRW,
R-WMWD, and VLAWMO.
MEETING CONCLUSION: All meeting participants will be kept apprised of future
developments on this issue.
Notes by Terry Noonan
\projects\W.
