e.c <br />is represented on Minnesota <br />Stormwater Steering Committee <br />C1iffAichinger, administrator of the Ramsey-Washington <br />Metro WD, has been appointed to the Minnesota Stormwa- <br />ter Steering Committee representing watershed districts. <br />The 30 member committee will advise the MPCA on how <br />to better manage Stormwater in a way that conserves, <br />enhances and restores high-quality water in our rivers, <br />lakes, streams, wetlands, and groundwater. <br />The Steering Committee met on April 14th and May 25th. <br />Subcommittees are being formed in the following areas: <br />* Education <br />* Monitoring <br />* Research <br />* Committee Operations (organizing meetings for <br />the larger group) <br />* State-wide Stormwater Manual development <br />* Watershed Approach to regulating <br />* Nondegradation in the MPCA's Small Municipal <br />Seperate Storm Sewer (MS4) general permit <br />* Industrial <br />Met Council Task Force seeks to <br />balance natural resource conservation <br />with economic development <br />Steve Hobbs, administrator of the Rice Creek Watershed <br />Districts is representing MAWD and the metro area water- <br />shed districts on the Met Council Natural Resources Task <br />Force.
