(c) Evaluate WQ data analysis techniques and formats. <br />4. Assist Board with public education activities. Assist in development and <br />dissemination of public education, including GLWMO annual newsletter and <br />compilation of water body report cards. Duties include researching and writing <br />newsletter articles and establishing and using format for report cards as outlined in <br />WMO plan. <br />2005 Work Tasks: <br />(a) Provide seasonal press releases to WMO newspapers. <br />(b) Prepare periodic articles for city use from RWMWD efforts. <br />(c) Assist with preparation of web format newsletter. <br />5. Help find and evaluate projects for possible WMO participation. Find and help <br />the Board evaluate opportunities for GLWMO to support and assist in planning or <br />implementing projects that further the GLWMO management objectives, such as <br />lakescaping demonstration projects. Includes contacting and querying other agencies <br />and groups regarding their plans and schedules, their desire for assistance, and their <br />willingness to cooperate with the Board. Includes preparation and presentation of <br />short written reports to Board. <br />2005 Work Tasks: <br />(a) Help Board assess potential projects for consistency with WMO plan and <br />appropriate for WMO participation. <br />(b) Gather information to determine timing and estimated cost to assist Board in <br />determining how to handle financial assistance through its budgeting <br />process. <br />6. Conduct and summarize results from shoreline and habitat monitoring. Conduct <br />shoreland and habitat monitoring or, as appropriate, collect, analyze and summarize <br />pertinent information gathered by other entities such as lake associations and resource <br />management agencies. May include field checking of shoreline areas to determine <br />degree of disturbance and susceptibility to erosion as well as conducting surveys to <br />determine the degree of infestation of common harmful submergent and emergent <br />exotic species such as purple loosestrife, Eurasian water milfoil, and curly leaf <br />pondweed. Includes preparation and presentation of short written reports on findings. <br />Initial program to reflect field and data analysis for Lake Owasso (2005), followed by <br />Snail Lake (2006), and Lake Wabasso (2007). <br />2005 Work Tasks: <br />(a) Complete Lake Owasso shoreline assessment and aquatic plant survey. <br />S://GLwMO/2005/SCOPESERV ICES <br />
