Strategic Lake Management Plan- Lake Owasso <br />At the meeting in July of this year, the GLWMO Board discussed the preparation of a study for Lake <br />Owasso. It was noted that the Board should have specific goals in mind, and dialog between Board <br />members since that meeting has led to consensus regarding goals and justification for the study. <br />Following are. the goals that. were suggested for. the Study: <br />Goal 1 -Determine Historical Water Quality Trends <br />Objectives: <br />• Assess and compile available hydrologic and water-quality data <br />• Review and quality assure available data. <br />• Compile and synthesize available data <br />• Determine trends in water quality to determine whether water quality is being degraded. Trends <br />should evaluate other lakes within the area for the purposes of determining whether the trends in <br />Lake-0wasso are consistent with other lakes (caused by the weather) in the area or are unique to <br />Lake Owasso. <br />Goal 2: Set Beneficial Use Goals <br />Objectives: <br />• Already established in the Plan-Category I water bodies have the highest water quality <br />and support swimming and other direct-contact recreational activities such as water skiing, <br />scuba diving, and snorkeling. <br />• Should be related to in-lake phosphorus concentrations and other criteria <br />
