Item Description: Strategic Lake Management Plan -Lake. Owasso
Page 2
Goal 3: Assess attainment or non-attainment for current watershed land-use conditions
Objectives:
• Determine phosphorus loads and yields for selected water year in-three selected sub-watersheds
determined to be representative of the land uses in the watershed of the lake.
® Relate yields and loads to lake from entire watershed based on model results.
• Calculate internal phosphorus loadings through measurement.
Goa14: Estimate annual hydrologic and phosphorus budgets.
• Use. measured loads and yield data to calibrate model for different land uses
• Simulate typical annual hydrologic and. phosphorus budgets with calibrated model for entire
watershed
• Calibrate model to extent.possible
Goa15: Reconcile the budget with observed in-lake .conditions:
• Compare model=predicted budgets and predicted in-lake concentrations with
measured/observed in-lake conditions
Goal 6: Using the lake model, assess likelihood of beneficial use attainment under ultimate
watershed land use conditions
• Determine load reductions required to meet beneficial goals
• Identify options and costs to meet beneficial goals
• Determine whether these load reductions are feasible
• Determine cost benefit in meeting multiple goals
Goa17: If necessary, recommend feasible alternative remedial measures
• Determine BMPs (BMPs, as used here, means explicit projects to achieve the reductions)
required to meet reduced goals
