No substantive changes have
been made at this time. Phone numbers and contact information were updated. All other terms and
conditions of the permit remain in effect. General Permit # 2001-6111 authorizes the shoreline owners
in Ramsey County to perform stream and shoreline stabilization with riprap and/or bioengineering
techniques.
The intent of this General Permit is to simplify permit processing for shoreline and streambank
stabilization projects that have the support and direct oversight of the Ramsey Conservation District
and to avoid duplication of effort. If a project. meets the conditions in General Permit # 2001-6111 and
a license/approval is obtained from the Ramsey Conservation District, the applicant will not be
required to obtain a separate individual permit from the DNR. Projects that exceed the conditions in
General Permit # 2001-6111 will continue to require an individual DNR permit. However, please note
that projects located within certain Watershed Districts will also require the approval of that District
regardless of whether the conditions in the General Permit can be met.
Thank you for your continued cooperation. If you have any questions, please contact Area Hydrologist
Travis Germundson at (651) 772-7914.
Sincerely,
Dale E.
