r Shorevieul Green Community 2007 Shoreview Green Community Awards This is a City of Shoreview program to find, recognize, and reward residential properties that demonstrate (BMPs) Best Management Practices for water quality. Application deadline: May 15, 2007 Winners notified: July 11, 2007 Winners posted: Shoreview Clean Water Booth at Slice of Shoreview Tour of winning properties: August 4-5, 2007 (NOON - 5:30 PM) Only residential properties located in Shoreview, MN, or on Lake Owasso, Roseville, MN, are eligible. Properties must be in full compliance with city ordinances. Judging is based on information provided on the application form, as well as from photos and site visits for finalists. Properties that use a combination of good management practices, including use of native Minnesota plants in the landscape, infiltration of storm water, creation of shoreline buffers, and limited use of fertilizers and pesticides, will rank high. Winners will receive an attractive Shoreview Green Community Awards sign to be placed on their property, a framed photo of the property, a gift certificate for native plants, and recognition in the Shoreview Clean Water Committee's educational booth at the Slice of Shoreview. To be eligible, properties must be within the City of Shoreview and/or on Lake Owasso. All applicants must agree to participate in the Shoreview Green Community Awards Tour, August 4 and 5, 2007. The Shoreview Green Community Awards program is managed by the Shoreview Environmental Quality Committee with volunteer assistance from the Shoreview Green Community Campaign, a project of Sierra Club's North Star Chapter.
