r <br />Shorevieul Green Community <br />2007 Shoreview Green Community Awards <br />This is a City of Shoreview program to find, recognize, and reward residential properties <br />that demonstrate (BMPs) Best Management Practices for water quality. <br />Application deadline: May 15, 2007 <br />Winners notified: July 11, 2007 <br />Winners posted: Shoreview Clean Water Booth at Slice of Shoreview <br />Tour of winning properties: August 4-5, 2007 (NOON - 5:30 PM) <br />Only residential properties located in Shoreview, MN, or on Lake Owasso, Roseville, <br />MN, are eligible. Properties must be in full compliance with city ordinances. <br />Judging is based on information provided on the application form, as well as from <br />photos and site visits for finalists. Properties that use a combination of good <br />management practices, including use of native Minnesota plants in the landscape, <br />infiltration of storm water, creation of shoreline buffers, and limited use of fertilizers and <br />pesticides, will rank high. <br />Winners will receive an attractive Shoreview Green Community Awards sign to be <br />placed on their property, a framed photo of the property, a gift certificate for native <br />plants, and recognition in the Shoreview Clean Water Committee's educational booth at <br />the Slice of Shoreview. <br />To be eligible, properties must be within the City of Shoreview and/or on Lake Owasso. <br />All applicants must agree to participate in the Shoreview Green Community Awards <br />Tour, August 4 and 5, 2007. <br />The Shoreview Green Community Awards program is managed by the Shoreview <br />Environmental Quality Committee with volunteer assistance from the Shoreview Green <br />Community Campaign, a project of Sierra Club's North Star Chapter. <br />Mail completed forms (postmarked no later than May 15, 2007) with photographs to: <br />Shoreview Green Community Awards <br />c/o Shoreview Environmental Quality Committee <br />City of Shoreview <br />4600 Victoria Street North <br />Shoreview, MN 55126 <br />Questions: Call 651-483-9867 <br />
