GLWMO MEETING MINUTES -JULY 26, 2007
5
Aichinger noted that the trend line is up from 10 years ago. Also, the large graph
shows a date period of late May to early September while the Ramsey County
graph is from late April to October, which could account for the difference. He
will check with Barr Engineering.
Mogg suggested lowering the sampling point in the Lake Owasso study.
Aichinger stated that the sample should come from where the flow is detected. If
the sample is under a permanent pool, it confuses the sensor about where the
water level increase is coming from. Good testing needy-.more rain, and it may
take another year to get goad samples. If there has bey ~~ any flow, there will be
samples.
Mogg stated that he would like to hear from B~n~r Engineering as the study
progresses about whether another method could be considered for taking samples.
If samples have been taken, he would like to know from what locations, the
number of samples and number of sediment samples. He would like to_see a
detailed Grass Lake watershed map, es~eci<<I I ~ for;Lake Owasso. Aichinger stated
that as of the last GLWMO meeting, samj~le,gauges vi~ere just being installed. He
will check what locations were used. Schw; i~i-t:~~ added that by the next GLWMO
meeting, Barr will know if«t~od samples have hccrr obtained this season.
Eckman raised the issue of c~u~l~~«~ilig jet skis. Mark Maloney is working on a report that would be
~~~'
It>rmatted to b~~updated each year. The work plan includes a budget plan.
,~ '~~ ,
Root c~oi~iirlended the report and expressed his only concern as that the labels on
the data~~~~ieet that are difficult to read.
Eckman noted that items related to issuing permits should be marked N/A because
GLWMO does not issue permits.
DeZellar noted that the revised Report Card format would better prepare the
Board to complete this report next year.
