McCarron’s Blvd. <br />a. <br />Chair Majerus introduced the McCarron Study and requested Executive Director Cathy Bennett <br />provide a verbal summary of the proposed Study. Cathy Bennett explained the background of <br />the Study. She explained the partners and proposed study area. <br />Chair Majerus explained the reasons for the number of active partners. <br />Diane Hilton said she has talked extensively with the Watershed about relocation of the pond <br />(negative response). The Watershed as a public agency will be involved. She encouraged <br />incorporating the Watershed studies in this Study, as well as studies of the armory and its future. <br />Pastor Carlson explained his interest in the site and conversations with Dennis Guptil. <br />Member Kelsey said the HRA should support the Master Planning and recommended that <br />Gyptel keep up the site without further corrective action. Ms. Hilton asked if the Church should <br />be an active partner and whether neighbors south of McCarron’s Blvd should also be partners. <br />The Association wants to be a participant. The next meeting is October 22 at the B-Dale Club. <br />Chair Majerus thanked the Association for attending. <br />George Johnson recommended strong commitment from the Armory. <br />Dwayne Hokabolz suggested involvement along Rice Street. The Study should involve the City <br />of Maplewood and the bus garage as well as H & Z, regarding screening. <br />Motion: <br /> Member Marks moved, seconded by Member Millasovich, to recommend to the City <br />Council the initiation of a McCarron’s Neighborhood Study beginning in October 2003 as a way <br />to resolve the development issue at 185 N. McCarrons Blvd and identify the impacts in the <br />surrounding neighborhood. <br />Ayes: 4 <br />Nays: 0 <br />Motion carried 4-0. <br />Discussion/Reports and Non-Action Items <br />9.(Item 9.a moved to action under 8.a) <br />Update on Applewood Pointe single family lots. <br />b. <br />Executive Director Cathy Bennett explained progress on the purchase agreement with United. If <br />significant issues, the staff will return in October. <br />The staff has worked by on a contract with GMHC which was explained by Ms Bennett. She <br />explained the HRA second mortgage and first right of refusal to purchase.
