C. Invoices
C-1. Invoices Considered for Payment
Mr. Maloney stated that the first three invoices are from Barr Engineering for
services in accordance with the Lake Owasso Study. The invoices presented
reflect previously agreed. upon services in the work plan.
The fourth invoice is from 2004, when GLWMO's cost share of the Vadnais Lake
Outlet construction was approved by agreement with Ramsey County. The cost
was estimated at $18,000; the actual cost billed to GLWMO is $12,076.31.
Ramsey County was able to get Mn/DOT to include the work with the "Unweave
the Weave" project on I-694.
Mogg asked if there is a signed agreement for maintenance. M r. Aichinger
responded that Ramsey County will maintain the inlet and outlet to the pipe.
Mogg moved to approve payment of invoices. Stark seconded.
Ayes - 4 Nays - 0.
D. Other Business
D-1. "Minnesota Water -Let's Keep It Clean" Program Request for
Participation & Support
Mr. Maloney stated that all watershed districts have been asked to participate in
the Minnesota Water -Let's Keep It Clean program.
Mr. Aichinger explained that contributions are made to a pool to buy ad spots for
metro-wide education programs. The group works strictly on watershed
education. It is money well spent and supported by Ramsey/Washington every
year. If supported, it should be part of the education budget.
Mr. Schwartz noted that this contribution would be on GLWMO's report card.
Mr. Maloney added that this larger metro-wide effort is beyond anything any one
group could do. A contribution would allow GLWMO to report its involvement in
this effort of education anal outreach.
Mogg questioned the program, noting that brochures are passed out about
problems with leaf cuttings, yet leaves are being collected anal put on the top of
the watershed. They are a potential source of nutrients getting into Lake Owasso.
It is a cross message. Mr. Aichinger responded that the brochures ask people to
not dump leaves in the street or in streams. Composting leaves is one option of
proper disposal.
Eckman stated that she would support a contribution of $2,000 as requested.
