May 11, 2010 <br />Item 4B <br />hest <br />The University of Minnesota Human Rights Center is pleased to announce a Youth Against <br />Race, Class, and Place Disparities Video Contest for students in grades 8-12 in the Twin Cit- <br />ies. The contest aims to educate the public and encourage dialogue and action to eliminate <br />race, class, and place disparities in Minnesota. Each contestant will be asked to produce a short <br />film focusing on an issue related to these disparities. The film should frame the problem in <br />clear terms and offer possible solutions. It can be done in the form of a public service an- <br />nouncement, music video, comedy sketch, or other short video format. If students are engaged <br />in current, past, or proposed projects aimed at eliminating race, class, and place disparities, <br />they are encouraged to highlight these initiatives in their videos. <br />Submissions can be made by either an individual or a team, and the videos must be no longer <br />than 2 minutes.
