Classes Will Get You Started <br />Reduce your waste by 25% and receive other benefits as well. The City of Roseville and Eureka <br />Recycling are partnering on zero waste initiatives to show that waste is preventable, not inevitable. <br />This spring we're offering two composting classes. <br />Worm Composting: the Next Step to Zero-Waste at Home <br />Live in an apartment or don't have room to compost in your backyard? Making dirt, not waste, is <br />easier than you think! Staff from Eureka Recycling will answer your questions about composting with <br />a worm bin, from the nifty-gritty how-to's to the positive impact composting has on global warming! <br />You will receive tips, take home resources and have the opportunity to purchase composting worms to <br />get you started. Class is Tuesday, May 11 at 7:00 p.m. Registration deadline is Friday, May 7. <br />Backyard Composting: the Next Step to Zero-Waste at Home <br />Come learn about the environmental benefits of composting in your backyard and how you can easily <br />reduce waste at home! This workshop has tips for maintaining a healthy compost pile no matter what <br />type of composter you are. Composting food scraps, grass and leaves in your backyard is one of the <br />easiest things you can do to reduce your carbon footprint and save energy. In addition you end up with <br />a great soil supplement for the plants in your yard. This workshop will provide you with everything <br />you need to get started. Class is Tuesday, May 18 at 7:00 p.m. Registration deadline is Friday, May <br />14. <br />Classes are $50 each and include either a backyard compost bin or a pound of worms and the book <br />Worms Eat My Garbage. Classes meet at Roseville City Hall, 2660 Civic Center Drive. <br />Preregistration and a $5 down payment are required. Call 651-792-7027 for more information or to <br />register. <br />1 <br />
