Information on new practices that can <br />decrease the number of juveniles held in <br />detention within Minnesota will be given <br />to a professionals responsible for these <br />programes and legislators who can help <br />institutionalize good practices statewide. <br />5. The above group will identify next-steps <br />for action to decrease the number of youth <br />of color detained in the Minnesota Juvenile <br />Justice System. <br />How Does this positively impact the <br />Community? <br />1. The organization of this conference <br />concerning juvenile justice will benefit <br />local communities in two ways: first, they <br />will increase the skills of 3 Human Rights <br />Commissions to organize action for social <br />justice in cooperation with other Human <br />Rights Commissions. <br />2. Local commissions, police, school <br />officials, and professional involved with <br />juvenile justice locally will obtain new <br />knowledge of the rights of juveniles, <br />especially of color, who may be at risk in <br />their community. <br />3. The conference the LMHCR and 3 local <br />Human Rights Commissions organize may <br />provide eventually result in fewer youth <br />being detained in the juvenile justice system. <br />Budget (Itemized) <br />1.
