See attached newsletter. <br />Rice Street Interchange Project <br />Construction is well underway with building demolition north of Hwy 36 complete, ramp <br />construction, utility construction, and new bridge pier work underway. Grading and <br />utility work for the east half of the new Rice Street north of Hwy 36 will begin next week <br />after some temporary paving for widening on the west side is done for a traffic lane shift. <br />The undergrounding of the overhead utilities is scheduled to be complete in the next few <br />weeks allowing the overhead lines to be removed yet this fall. The contractor received <br />variance approval for extended work hours from the City Council at the August 9th City <br />Council meeting. <br />Twin Lakes Phase 2 Construction <br />The contractor has completed the storm sewer and water main installation on Twin Lakes <br />Segment of the project. They are working on preparing the subgrade for road <br />construction. Next week, they will begin working on the construction of the watermain <br />and storm sewer on the Prior Avenue segment of the project. There will be a Public <br />Hearing at the Monday, August 23rd City Council meeting to consider allowing Veit to <br />complete the water connection work during evening hours. At this time, the contractor is <br />on schedule and will finish the work by the end of October. <br />Sanitary Sewer Lining Project <br />This project is underway with line cleaning complete and the lining of segments <br />underway. We expect the lining of over one mile of sewers to be complete by mid <br />September. <br />
