See attached newsletter. Rice Street Interchange Project Construction is well underway with building demolition north of Hwy 36 complete, ramp construction, utility construction, and new bridge pier work underway. Grading and utility work for the east half of the new Rice Street north of Hwy 36 will begin next week after some temporary paving for widening on the west side is done for a traffic lane shift. The undergrounding of the overhead utilities is scheduled to be complete in the next few weeks allowing the overhead lines to be removed yet this fall. The contractor received variance approval for extended work hours from the City Council at the August 9th City Council meeting. Twin Lakes Phase 2 Construction The contractor has completed the storm sewer and water main installation on Twin Lakes Segment of the project. They are working on preparing the subgrade for road construction. Next week, they will begin working on the construction of the watermain and storm sewer on the Prior Avenue segment of the project. There will be a Public Hearing at the Monday, August 23rd City Council meeting to consider allowing Veit to complete the water connection work during evening hours. At this time, the contractor is on schedule and will finish the work by the end of October. Sanitary Sewer Lining Project This project is underway with line cleaning complete and the lining of segments underway. We expect the lining of over one mile of sewers to be complete by mid September.
