DAY CARE FACILITY, IN-HOME: A single family home in which a permanent <br />occupant of the dwelling provides for the care of children or adults. Those receiving care <br />are not related to the occupant or to each other and are not the legal wards or foster <br />children of the attendant adult. For the purposes of this Code, such activities shall meet <br />all requirements of home occupations. The home must meet all standards for registration <br />and inspection and not exceed state limits for number of clients. (Ord. 1286, 08-04-2003) <br />DOG KENNEL: Any premises where three or more dogs over three months of age are <br />kept, except where special multiple dog license (three or four dogs) is issued pursuant to <br />501.20 of this Code, excluding indoor pet boarding and/or pet day care as an accessory <br />use to pet and pet supply store, except that such pet boarding shall remain subject to the <br />licensing requirements of Section 501.19 of this Code. (Ord. 1034, 4-25-1988; amd. 1995 <br />Code) (Ord. 1356, 1-14-2008) (Ord. 1365, 4-14-2008) <br />DRY-CLEANING SERVICE FACILITY: A facility for dry cleaning clothing which: <br />A. Uses only the nonflammable dry-cleaning solvent perchloroethylene (PERC) or <br />similar nonflammable solvents approved for use in dry-cleaning plants by the federal <br />environmental protection agency; <br />B. Accomplishes all transfers of clothing from the cleaning machines to the dryers by <br />the dry-to-dry method, removing the majority of cleaning solvent before moving <br />clothes to dryers to minimize in-plant cleaning solvent exposure; <br />C. Deodorizes the dryer exhaust bypassing the exhaust over a refrigerated coil or <br />through a carbon absorption unit before the exhaust is discharged into the outside air. <br />The exhaust so discharged containing no more than 100 parts per 1,000,000 of the <br />dry cleaning solvents; <br />D. Recycles all solvent removed from dryer exhaust; <br />E. Provides fresh make-up air of at least 500 cubic feet per minute to each dry cleaning <br />machine; and <br />F. Disposes of all dry cleaning process byproducts in conformity with Federal <br />Environmeital Protection Agency requirements. (Ord. 1023, 11-23-87), (Ord. 1286, <br />08-04-2003) <br />DWELLING: A building, or portion thereof, occupied or intended to be occupied <br />exclusively for residence purposes, but not including rooms in motels, hotels, nursing <br />homes, rooming houses or tourist homes; or a trailer, tent, cabin or trailer coach. <br />DWELLING, ATTACHED: A dwelling which is joined to other. dwellings at one or both <br />sides by a common wall or walls. (Ord. 1286, 08-04-2003) <br />DWELLING CAPACITY: The maximum occupancy of a dwelling unit based on the <br />allowed number of residents living in a dwelling unit. (Ord. 1286, 08-04-2003) <br />DWELLING, DETACHED: A residential building which is entirely surrounded by open <br />space on the same lot. <br />DWELLING, MULTIPLE-FAMILY: A building or portion thereof containing three or <br />more dwelling units. <br />DWELLING, SINGLE-FAMILY: A residential building or portion thereof containing <br />one dwelling unit. (Ord. 1286, 08-04-2003) <br />DWELLING, TWO-FAMILY: A residential building containing two dwelling units. <br />.(Ord. 275, 5-12-59; amd. 1995 Code) <br />DWELLING UNIT: Residential accommodations, with separate lockable exterior and <br />interior entrances, including complete bathroom and kitchen facilities permanently <br />installed, which are arranged, designed, used or intended as living quarters. Where a <br />private garage is structurally attached, it shall be considered as a part of the building in <br />which the dwelling unit is located. (Ord. 1286, 08-04-2003) <br />
