EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE VARIANCE BOARD OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Variance Board of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was held on the 4th day of May, 2005, at 5:00 p.m. The following members were present: Chair Bakeman and Members Pust, Boerigter and Doherty. Variance Board Member Boerigter introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: VB RESOLUTION NO. 14 A RESOLUTION APPROVING VARIANCES TO SECTION 1009 OF THE OF THE ROSEVILLE CITY CODE FOR TARGET CORPORATION AT 1515 AND 1495 COUNTY ROAD B (PF3635) WHEREAS, Target Corporation has requested VARIANCES to Section 1009.03M of the Roseville City Code to allow the installation of ground signs at the new Super Target and Perkins; and WHEREAS, these properties are addressed as 1515 and 1495 County Road D, and legally described as: Lot 1 & 2, Block 1, Roseville Business Park WHEREAS, Section 1009.03M (Ground Signs) states: In lieu of a pylon sign, a ground sign would be permitted. Ground signs may be of equal sign area allowed for pylon signs in the same zoning district. Ground signs shall be limited to a maximum of eight feet in height. Ground signs may be set back from street rights-of-way a distance equal to one half of the setback (15 feet) for pylon signs in the same zoning district; and WHEREAS, Target Corporation seeks to insta112 - 20 foot tall ground signs on the Super Target property (1 adjacent to Snelling Avenue and 1 adjacent to County Road B) and 1 - 8 foot tall ground sign on the Perking property (adjacent to County Road B); and WHEREAS, the Perkins ground sign adjacent to County Road B would be located 10 feet from the property line adjacent to County Road B; and WHEREAS, the City Planner has concluded that "hardships" are present and support can be given to deviate from the strict requirements of the Roseville City Code;
