EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE
VARIANCE BOA OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Variance Board of the City of
Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was held on the 3`d day of August, 2005 at 5:00 p.m.
The following members were present: Chair Bakeman and Members Traynor and
Doherty.
Variance Board Member Doherty introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
VB RESOLUTION NO. 26
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A REQUEST BY
PAUL DEBORDE,1740 GALTIER STREET, FOR A V ANCE
TO SECTION 1004.O1A6 MUM TOTAL SURFACE AREA)
OF THE ROSEVILLE CITY CODE (PF3657).
WHEREAS, Paul DeBorde seeks approval of a 704 sq. ft. VARIANCE to Section
1004.O1A6 of the Roseville City Code to allow the construction of a two stall detached garage
(accessory structure) to replace an existing small single stall detached garage.
WHEREAS, the DeBorde property is located at 1740 Galtier Street, and legally
described as:
LOT 3, BLOCK 3, McCARRONS HILLS PLAT 2
PIN: 13-29-23-43-0023
WHEREAS, City Code Section 1004.O1A6 (Maximum Total Surface Area) allows
single and two family residential property a maximum impervious coverage of 30% of the
lot/parcel area. (This includes structure and accessory building footprints and paved surfaces
including concrete, asphalt, brick, stone pavers and similar materials.), and
WHEREAS, the DeBorde proposal, because of the long driveway and the small lot,
would create an 704 sq. ft. excess impervious coverage of the lot, and
WHEREAS, the proposed lot coverage requires a VARIANCE of 704 sq. ft. in
accordance with Section 1013 of the Roseville City Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Planner has concluded that "hardships" are present and support can
be given to deviate from the strict requirements of the Roseville City Code;
