E'I' C'T F IJTES OF EETl~G OFT E <br />VAIN l~CE BOA OFT CITE' OSE I,I.E <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Variance Board of the City of <br />Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was held on the 6th day of December, 2006, at 5:00 <br />p.m. <br />The following members were present: Doherty, Boerigter and Chair Bakeman. <br />Variance Board Member Doherty introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:. <br />SI..LT'I'IOl®1 O.50 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING A V ANCE TO §1009 OF THE ROSEVILLE CITX <br />CODE FOR CORPUS CHRISTI CHURCH, 2131 FAIRVIEW AVENUE (PF3~01) <br />WHEREAS, Corpus Christi Church seeks a VARIANCE to § 1009 (Sign Regulations) to <br />allow a second freestanding sing on the premises; and <br />WHEREAS, this property is addressed as 2131 Fairview Avenue, and legally described <br />as: <br />OUTLOT A, CORPUS CHRISTI ADDITION <br />PIN: 16-29-23-21-0025 <br />WHEREAS, Section 1009.04B (Institutional Uses) permits churches to have one <br />nameplate sign no greater than 50 square feet, but is silent on freestanding ground or monument <br />signs; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Planner has determined that church ground and/or monument signs <br />are nameplate signs covered under Section 1009.04B and as such the additional freestanding sign <br />sought by Corpus Christi Church requires a VARIANCE; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Division has concluded that "hardships" are present and <br />support can be given to deviate from the strict requirements of the Roseville City Code if the <br />conditions identified below are met; <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Roseville Variance Board, to approve an <br />VARIANCE to Section 1009.04B (Institutional Uses) to allow a second freestanding <br />ground/monument nameplate sign on the premises, subject to the following conditions: <br />The freestanding monument/ground sign shall be no larger that 4 feet by 6 feet or <br />24 square feet in size. <br />2. The freestanding monument/ground sign shall be setback a minimum of 15 feet <br />from the property line adjacent to Fairview Avenue. <br />
