REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Department Approval: <br />C� <br />Reviewed <br />Date: Ol/08/Ol <br />Item No.: E — 3 <br />Agenda Section <br />Organizational <br />Description: Appointment of Citizen Volunteers to Various Commission Vacancies <br />Background <br />At the November 27, 2000 Council meeting, it was determined that for the current volunteer commission <br />vacancies, (Planning, 1 vacancy, Parks and Recreation, 1 vacancy, Human Rights, 3 vacancies.) the Council <br />would select from the interested applicants on the basis of their resume submittal. <br />Staff assembled a ballot of the various applicants and vacancies, which were mailed to the Council the week of <br />December 18, 2000. Those ballots were completed by the Council and returned to the Acting City Manager's <br />office by the appropriate time. <br />Policy Implications <br />This procedure was approved as a waiver of current policy (Resolution 9372) for this one-time effort. The <br />commission appointment process will be reviewed in the future for any permanent changes. <br />Financial Implications <br />There are no direct budgetary fiscal impact expected with this action. <br />Ballot Recommendations <br />The results of the balloting is as follows: <br />Planning Commission: Troy Duncan <br />Parks and Recreation Commission: Tie vote between Greg Hoag and Richard Jacobson <br />Human Rights Commission: Howard Wagner, Rita Stanoch, and Philip Crump <br />Council Action <br />Motion to approve Troy Duncan to be appointed to the Roseville Planning Commission for the unexpired <br />term ending March 3 l, 2003 <br />Motion to approve to be appointed to the Roseville Parks and Recreation Commission for the <br />unexpired term ending March 3 1,200 1 <br />Motion to approve Howard Wagner, Rita Stanoch, and Philip Crump to be appointed to the Human Rights <br />Commission for the unexpired terms ending March 3 1,200 1, March 31, 2002, March 31, 2003, <br />respectively. <br />
