���G� <br />Request for Council Action <br />Date: January 22, 2001 <br />Item Number:C— 2 <br />Depart nt Ap roval Manager Approval Agenda Section <br />� �� Organizational Business <br />Item Description: <br />2001 Pay Equity Report <br />Back ro� <br />Minnesota State Law requires that public jurisdictions file a Pay Equity Report with the Department of <br />Employee Relations pursuant to the Local Government Pay Equity Act, M.S. 471.991-471.999 and <br />Minnesota Rules, Chapter 3920. The City must file a report on a rotating basis of every three years. The <br />City of Roseville filed the required reports in 1998. A copy of that report is attached. The ne�t report is due <br />on or before January 3 1, 2001 presenting data from the year 2000 to ensure compensation equity among <br />gender classes at the City. Staff will provide that information to the City Council on January 22, 2001. <br />The 2001 Pay Equity Report shows that the City of Roseville is in compliance with the requirements of the <br />law. <br />Financial Implications <br />There are no financial implications associated with approving the report. <br />Staff Recommendation <br />Staff recommends that the City Council approve and submit the Pay Equity Report to ensure continued <br />compliance with Minnesota State Law. <br />Council Action Requested <br />Motion authorizing the Mayor and the Acting City Manager to sign the report, indicating the approval of the <br />City Council. <br />
