REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />DATE: 1/12/98 <br />ITEM NO.: E-8 <br />Department Approval: Manager Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br />Organizational Business <br />Item Description: 1998 Pay Equity Report. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Minnesota State Law requires that public jurisdictions file a Pay Equity Report with the <br />Department of Employee Relations to remain in compliance with the 1984 Local <br />Government Pay Equity Act. The City of Roseville is required to file this report by January <br />31, 1998. Preliminary statistics compiled from the report indicate that the City of Roseville <br />is in full compliance with the Act. Only the Department of Employee Relations can make <br />an official determination of compliance. <br />FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS <br />There are no financial implications associated with approving the report. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS <br />Staff recommends Council approval and submittal of the Pay Equity Report. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion authori�ing the Mayor and City Manager to sign the report, indicating the approval <br />of the City Council. <br />
