Additionally, the Ramsey Soil and <br />Water Conservation District would be partnering with the City of Roseville in the grant <br />application to complete the MLCCS for Roseville. <br />The attached proposal is consistent with the policy of leveraging other public and private <br />resources to obtain funding to offset the costs of development. It is also consistent with the <br />Roseville Parks and Recreation System Plan and the City's efforts as outlined in the Vista <br />2000 goals to improve our environment through the protection and improvement of our <br />natural resources. It is also consistent with our efforts to partner with other agencies. <br />FINANCIAI IMPI I(:ATI(�NS <br />The City must provide matching funds of $24,230 if the grant were approved and accepted. <br />There is $29,000 included in the proposed 2001 Park Improvement Program (PIP) for this <br />item. <br />, 'A�F R CnMMENDATIC�N <br />Based on the recommendation of the City of Roseville Parks and Recreation Commission, <br />the Parks and Recreation System Plan, the Roseville Vista 2000 Plan, the numerous <br />natural resource issues identified by citizens in the last several years, and the opportunity <br />to accomplish these goal by leveraging the additional funding from the State of Minnesota, <br />staff recommends that the City submit a grant application to the Minnesota Department of <br />Natural Resources Metro Greenway Program for a Metro Greenways Planning Grant for <br />$24,230 for the development of a Natural Resources Inventory and Management Plan. <br />�O 1NC11 ACTInN RFfll IESTFD <br />Adoption of the attached resolution for application to the Minnesota Department of Natural <br />Resources Metro Greenway Program for a Metro Greenways Planning Grant for the <br />development of a Natural Resources Inventory and Management Plan for Roseville. <br />Matching funds of $24,320, as authorized by the City Council at such time as the grant is <br />awarded to the City, would be taken from the 2001 PIP. <br />
