Departgiery�ARy�oval: REQUEST FOR COUNCII, ACTION Manager A�proved: Date: February 12, 2001 Item No: �— � Agenda Section: CONSENT I tern Des�ri�ption: Request for Approval' of a Burn Permit to burn wild growth at Concordia Meadows Atrium T�wrtllonte Association, gQ� Lv►•cll Avenue 1.0 Requested Action 1.1 Concordia Meadows Atrium Townhom� Association is requesting City Council approval of a burn permit to burn wild growth around their storm water retention pond at 506 Lovel l Avenue. 2.0 Background 2.1 Concordia Meadows Atrium Townhomd Association is requesting a bum permit to bum the wild growth on the perimeter of and adjacent to the storm water retention pond located at the site. This area has not been designated as a Prairie Grass restoration area nor does the Association term it as one. 2.2 In 1�97,1999 and 2000 the TOWi]hpii�� Association requested and were issued bum permits for this site. In 2000, Applied Ecology, who specializes in conducting bums, were contracted to conduct the bum. It is the Association's intent to retain the services of Applied Ecology for the bum again this year. Further, it is the Association's intent to notify the Roseville Fire Department in advance of the date of this year's bum. 2.3 Due to the unpredictable nature of the spring weather, the Association would like the permit for a time period of two weeks, commencing on April 1, 2001 and effective through April i 5, 24� 1. 3.0 Staff Recommendation 3.1 It is the recommendation of the staff that the City Council authorize the Fire Marshal to issue a bum permit to the Concordia Meadows Atrium Townhpr�e! Association. The permit would be for the period of April 1,200 1 through April 15,200 1.
