Opportunity Grant Criteria: General Criteria: ■ Located within the Regional Blueprint urban area or urban reserve . In predevelopment phase Selection Criteria: 1. Potential for integrated and compact land use. 2. Potential to be physically integrated and compatible with adjacent land uses. 3. Potential to have sufficient population, jobs and activities to result in a walkable environment that is or can be accessible by transit. 4. Potential to enhance overall design quality such as architectural style and building scale, features of historic significance or community identity, public spaces that create a sense of place, convenience of pedestrian features. 5. Potential for replication. 6. Potential for public-private implementation partnerships. 7. Potential for broad, extensive public involvement and a planning/implementation process that can ensure successful implementation. 8. Local political and/or community commitment. 9. Opportunity to promote and develop a land use pattern consistent with program goals would be lost if applicant city does not act in a timely way to direct development process in the face of pressures for conventional development solutions. 10. Opportunity to link local development plans and connect land uses with regional priorities and investments such as transitways, transit hubs. In the selection process, the Council will attempt to fund projects that represent a diversity of community types and locations.
