� �..� <br />Request for Council Action <br />Date: 09-24-01 <br />Item Number: G-I <br />Department Approval Manager Approval Agenda Section <br />�"�" ���,� Recognitions <br />Item Description: Recognition of Roseville Fire Department Explorer Post 547 for winning the <br />gold standard in the Explorer-Firefighter Challenge. <br />Background: The Roseville Fire Department started a Boy Scout Explorer Post in March, 2000 <br />as a way to develop future firefighters to serve the City of Roseville. The members and <br />advisors meet weekly to train these future firefighters and to prepare them to compete in the <br />Explorer-Firefighter Challenge. During the event, Explorer posts from the greater Twin Cities <br />Metro Region compete in a variety of written and practical firefighting skill tests. <br />Policv Implications: None. <br />Financial: None. <br />Staff Recommendation: Staff recommendation is for Council to recognize the notable <br />accomplishment of the Roseville Fire Department Explorer Post 547. <br />Council Action Requested: Public presentation of a plaque from the Indianhead Council of <br />Boy Scouts of America recognizing the Roseville Fire Department Explorer Post 547 and the <br />only competing Explorer post to achieve the Gold Standard in the Explorer-Firefighter <br />Challenge. .�..��M,�-�.�.,.. „�, ��,_....�.�.�..�_..�..�µ _.�..._._.., <br />
