REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />DATE: 09/24/01 <br />ITEM N0: G-•2 <br />Department Approval: ManagerReviewed: Agenda Section: <br />� Recognitions <br />Item Description: Recognition of Archie Eagles Family and Friends <br />for Contributions to the City of Roseville <br />BACKGROUND <br />For many years dating back to the mid 60's, Archie Eagles and his family have served the <br />community of Roseville. Archie was a member of the committee that developed the <br />Roseville Arena and he served for several years on the Roseville Parks and Recreation <br />Commission. Hiswife Helen has been very involved in the Roseville Figure Skating School <br />and Club. His children have also been involved in the Roseville area activities. Mr.Eagles <br />passed away in 2000. In order, to commemorate his memory, the family and friends of <br />Archie Eagles have contributed a new, large trophy case, TV and VCR for the Roseville <br />Arena. This donation is valued at $8,000. <br />POLICY OBJECTIVE <br />The City of Roseville encourages citizens to participate in improvements to the park system <br />thereby expanding the resources available for providing quality facilities for all to use. <br />FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS <br />None. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends the recognition of Mr. Archie Eagles and his family and friends for their <br />generous contribution to the City of Roseville Parks and Recreation system. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion recognizing Mr. Archie Eagles and his family and friends for their generous <br />contributions valued at over $8,000 for the new, large trophy case, TV and VCR for the <br />RosevilleArena. <br />
