REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />DATE: 1 0/OS/0 1 <br />ITEM NO: F-2 <br />Department Approval: 1�Ianager Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br />Reports <br />Item Description: Approve Resolution withholding Tax Forfeit Properiy <br />(PIN# 04-29-23-41-0029) from sale for a 6-month period. <br />Background: We have received notice from Ramsey County regarding tax forfeit properties <br />located in Roseville. We have an interest in acquiring a properiy on Terrace Drive, just south of <br />Oasis Park for drainage and park purposes. Wetlands and drainage ditches located on the parcel <br />render this parcel unbuildable. Staff feels that the best use of the parcel would be for public <br />purposes, <br />Staff sees this as an opportunity to acquire control of the property surrounding the storm inlet for <br />Oasis Pond, as well as acquiring the land to complete the pathway around this Pond for Oasis <br />Park. <br />Policy objectives: Ramsey County requires the government unit to submit written request to <br />withhold a properiy from sale for a six-month period within 60 days of notice. The request is not <br />complete and timely if it is not accompanied by a certified resolution of the governing body stating <br />the public purpose for which the properiy will be used. <br />Financial Implications: At this time the County has not provided the City with the appraised <br />value of this parcel. Once that information is available to the City, we will bring a resolution <br />before the Council regarding the acquisition of the property. <br />RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION: <br />Approve Resolution withholding Tax Forfeit Properiy (PIN# 04-29-23-41-0029) from sale for a <br />6-month period. <br />Prepared by: Debra Bloom <br />
