The County then <br />directed cities to develop a method of financing their recycling program beginning January 1992. Roseville <br />responded by approving the establishment of a recycling fee with has been included as part of the quarterly <br />utility bill. <br />Ramsey County has announced that cities may apply for SCORE funds that the County receives from the state <br />of Minnesota. The City has received these funds for the past nine years. <br />Ramsey County requires that for this particular grant application process that the City Council adopt a <br />resolution authorizing the application for the funds. The application is due November 1, 2001. <br />Policv Im�lications: <br />Minnesota State Statute and City Code ensure recycling services are available to citizens. Chapter 403 of the <br />City Code outlines Roseville's Curbside Recycling Program. <br />Financial Im�lications: <br />The grant will pay a portion of the Curbside Recycling Program. This grant typically makes up almost one- <br />third of the budget. <br />Council Action Reauested: <br />Motion adopting a Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to submit a grant application to the County of <br />Ramsey for 2002 SCORE Funding Grant in the amount of $65,938 for use in Roseville's residential recycling <br />program. <br />
