Report on Property Abatement for 1661 Stanbridge (8:20 — 8:40 p.m.) <br />Handout at meeting —"Chronology of Events" <br />Dennis Welsch, Community Development Director, noted a public hearing <br />abatement for this location on November 13,200 1 and to review bids for <br />work. He described the purpose and history of code compliance in general, <br />property in particular. Maschka asked about timing of abatement and tax <br />proceedings. Report on DWI and Traffic Enforcement (8:40 — 9:25 p.m.) <br />Deputy Chief Sletner described the history of the Roseville crime impact teams and <br />citizen involvement in helping to create the four impact teams. She reviewed statistics <br />for stops and citations resulting from overtime by the traffic crime impact team. Lt. R. <br />Mathwig reviewed the on-call statistics for traffic enforcement. He also described <br />special details for traffic enforcement and DWIs. Sletner noted the City's vehicle <br />forfeiture statistics and procedures. Maschka asked what crimes trigger forfeiture. <br />Goedeke asked about speeding on City streets and major thoroughfares. Kysylyczyn <br />noted statistics about increased fatalities for motorcyclists' nation-wide, and about <br />minimum staffing standards in the Police Department. Chief Wood spoke to response <br />times, calls for service, officer safety, clearance rates, and goal setting. Klausing, <br />Maschka, Goedeke and Kysylyczyn talked about meeting community needs and Council <br />expectations. Maschka noted that the Council used to meet with Department Heads and <br />discuss goals and targets.
