e. Timeline <br />Beets noted the School District's effort to analyze their facility needs. Kysylyczyn <br />called on Superintendent Thein, who elaborated on that effort, indicating that he hoped <br />for a final report about the school district's facility and financial needs by the end of this <br />academic year in June, 2002. <br />£ Questions; Comments <br />Council Member Mastel commented on the necessity of cooperation with the School <br />District. Commission Member Jacobson asked about how demographic data influenced <br />the School District's facility decisions and may affect the City's community center <br />decision. Commission Member Smith asked about the timing of voter referenda <br />questions involving both the School District and the City. Council Member Klausing <br />asked Thein what benefits the School District could offer the City respecting a proposed <br />community center, and what benefits he thought a City community center might provide <br />to the School District. <br />g. Next Steps: Moving Forward? <br />Commission Member Freeman stated a desire to see the Parks and Recreation <br />Commission recommend a timeframe for City consideration of a community center. <br />4. City Parks and Recreation System Plan Update <br />Several Members of the Parks and Recreation Commission commended the proposed update to <br />the System Plan for Council approval.
