Approval: <br />COUNCIL REPORT <br />'%� ��/� <br />DATE: 12/17/O 1 <br />ITEM NO: F-2 <br />Agenda Section: <br />REPORTS <br />Item' Description: Review of Annual (2001) Comprehensive Plan Revisions consistent with <br />Comprehensive Plan (PF3350). <br />1.0 BACKGROUND <br />1.1 Each year in December/January the Roseville Planning Commission and City Council <br />affirm the Comprehensive Plan changes that have occurred during the previous year. (The <br />Comprehensive Plan was rewritten and adopted in September 1994.) During the year, <br />public hearings are held on all plan changes before the Commission and Council approve <br />them. Most amendments (see examples below) are then sent to the Metropolitan Council <br />for their review, comment, and approval. <br />1.2 In order to keep track of amendments to the Plan, the Planning Commission has annually <br />scheduled a hearing on the affirmation of the changes. If approved, the changes are <br />included on an addenda sheet in the front of the Plan. <br />1.3 This year the Planning Commission's public hearing on the changes that have occurred <br />during 2001 began on November 14, 2001 and continued to the hearing at the December <br />12 meeting with a final recommendation to take place on January 2. <br />1.4 The City Council will receive the final document and the planning Commission's <br />recommendations in mid January 2002. <br />2.0 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN REVISIONS -- Attached is a chart of the entire plan, <br />sections, and appendices are incorporated in the front of the Roseville Comprehensive <br />Plan. Changes for 2001 are shown in red <br />New this year, an Executive Summary of the 1500 page document has been prepared. In <br />addition, a Citizen's Guide to the Comprehensive Plan (a Plan snapshot) has been <br />prepared for distribution in 2002 in new resident packs, at the customer counters, by <br />Internet, and through Economic Development Packets. <br />2.1 Section 1— IntroductionBackground: (Zoning Maps) Illustrates all land use zoning <br />designations based on City approvals to December 3 l, 2000, including a spreadsheet <br />breakdown of each designation by area and percent of total city land area. <br />PF 3350 -RCA (12/17/O1) -Page 1 of 1 <br />
