March - focus group meetings with faith based groups, educational institutions <br />& mixed-use developers. <br />. 1�Iarch 10 - community workshop where approximately 30 neighborhood <br />representatives attended, Over. 1200 notices were mailed to residents and <br />property owners within 350 feet of the site. The meeting was advertised in the <br />Bulletin and posted on the City web page. <br />. 1�Iarch 22 — neighborhood meeting where land uses and design options were <br />presented. <br />3.3 In addition, staff prepared, with the assistance of Demographic Technologies, a series <br />of demographic characteristics of Planning District #3. A full set of the maps and data <br />are available in the community development office. <br />3.4 After review with the Planning Commission and the City Council, staff developed a <br />revised master plan that includes planning principles, a broad land use concept, phased <br />development approach and suggested densities for a mix of housing, commercial uses <br />and greenspace as attached. This approach is similar to that used in the development of <br />the Twin Lakes Master Plan. <br />4.0 SUGGESTED COUNCIL ACTION <br />By motion, approve the schedule to continue with the Master Plan process for the <br />AronalHamline Neighborhood as outlined in the project report of 2/1 1/O1 (below). <br />4.1 April 3, 2002 — Planning Commission Public Hearing to consider Planned Unit <br />Development Concept Master Plan for the Arona/Hamline Neighborhood. Public <br />notice will be provided by mailing to over 1,200 residents (property owner and renter) <br />within 350 feet of the Arona site as identified in the attached map. The meeting will <br />also be advertised in the Bulletin and posted on the City web page. <br />4.2 April 29, 2002 -- City Council approval (with any changes) of Arona/Hamline <br />Neighborhood Master Plan. Council direction to prepare a Request For Proposals and <br />distribute to the development community.
