Amending Chapter 312 of the Roseville City Code <br />Concerning a Local Lodging Tax (Sunset Provision) <br />Beets overviewed the history of the Local Lodging Tax <br />sunset clause. <br />Kysylyczyn commented on good taxation policy. <br />Maschka commented on problems with sunset clauses. <br />Kysylyczyn discussed a compromise whereby the <br />operations of the Roseville Visitors Association would <br />be formally reviewed and approved by vote of the <br />Council, but the Lodging Tax itself would not be <br />automatically sun-setted. <br />Rolliri Hunsicker, chair of the RVA, spoke about the <br />history of the RVA, its accomplishments, and the <br />communication flow between the RVA and the City <br />Council. <br />Kough moved, Schroeder seconded, to table <br />consideration of the sunset clause in Chapter 3 12 of the <br />Roseville City Code, concerning a Local Lodging Tax, to <br />allow for a meeting with the� �=Dit�Ctor and Board of <br />Directors of the Roseville Visitors Association, and to <br />direct the City Attorney to draft new ordinance language <br />relating to a performance review and to bring that back <br />to Council. Dean Maschka will serve as City Council <br />liaison to the RVA Board on this issue.
