� TYPICAL MINNESOTA STATUTE 429 � <br />� <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT PROCESS <br />1. Project Initiation <br />a, Petition of more than 35 percent of affected property owners. <br />b. Unanimous petition of affected property owners. <br />c. City Council Action. <br />2. Resolution ordering preparation of report on improvement and declaring <br />_ adequacy of petition if appropriate. <br />Note: This resolution should be published in the official newspaper <br />after adoption. Unless there is a challenge to the <br />determination of adequacy within 30 days, the determination <br />cannot be challenged in the future. <br />3. Engineers Report <br />� a. Feasibility of proposed improvement. <br />b. Whether improvements should be made as proposed or with other <br />improvement. <br />c. Cost of improvement as recommended. <br />. <br />4. Resolution receiving the feasibility report and calling for hearing on <br />the improvement. <br />Note: If 100% of affected property owners petition for the <br />improvement, they may also waive their rights to this public <br />hearing. <br />5. Notice of Public Hearing <br />a. Time and place of hearing. <br />b. General nature of improvement. <br />c. Estimated cost of improvement. <br />d. Proposed area to be assessed, <br />E1-1 <br />$ <br />
