Date: April 29, 2002 <br />Item: WS IL D. <br />Shoreland Ordinance <br />Following up on the Hoff-Shiely fence dispute, what <br />follows is a possible ordinance clarifying that fences (and <br />houses) cannot be closer than 75' to a lake. <br />We would like your initial thoughts and feelings about such <br />an ordinance before we take it to the Planning Commission. <br />In the meantime, if anyone applies for a permit to construct <br />a fence within 75' of a lake, we would reject that <br />application based on the Council's previous discussion and <br />interpretation of its Shoreland Ordinance — that it prevents <br />lakeside fences. <br />Neal <br />
