Purpose. The Roseville City Code, Title 7, Section 703.05, Benches in <br />Right of Way is hereby amended by adding or revising language necessary to define <br />shelters as bus stop structures which, after receiving proper permits, may be placed in the <br />Right of Way. The purpose of this ordinance is to provide added public safety, comfort, <br />cleanliness, lighting and access to public transit stops. <br />SECTION 2. Section 703.05 is hereby amended as follows: <br />703.05: BUS STOP STRUCTURES INRIGHTOFWAY: <br />2 0 No bench or bus-shelter may be placed or maintained in a public right of way without <br />21 securing a permit from the Public Works Director and the payment of an annual license <br />2 2 fee of twenty five dollars ($25.00). The number, size, and locations of a11 benches and <br />23 shelters shall be in accordance with the C1tv of Roseville/Metro Transit Bus Route Plan. <br />2 4 A permit sha11 not be issued unless the bench or �ts shelter and its placement comply <br />2 5 with the following conditions: <br />2 6 A. Bus Stops: A bench or �s shelter may only be placed at a bus stop on an established <br />27 bus route. <br />28 B. Location: A bench or �s shelter sha11 be placed no nearer than four feet (4') from the <br />2 9 roadway curb or the edge of the roadway where no curb exists and shall not obstruct a <br />3 0 pathway. <br />31 C. Number: No more than one bench or �s shelter ber corner may be placed at a <br />3 2 roadway intersection. <br />3 3 D. Proximity To Other Benches or Shelters: No bench or � shelter may be placed <br />3 4 within one thousand feet (1,000') of any other bench on a the same side of the <br />3 5 roadway, except as otherwise specifically authorized by the Public Works Director. <br />36 E. Size: The maximum size of a bench sha11 be three and one-half feet (3 1/2') l�iu�l� <br />3 7 seven feet (7',L� and three feet (3'1 wide erected upon a concrete �ad of maximum <br />3 8 ei�ht feet (8') len,gth and four feet (4'� width with walkwa� to the curb or roadwa� <br />3 9 e d� e.
