Teamster negotiations for the 2002 contractwill continue. As soon as these discussions <br />conclude, staff will forward modifications, if any, to the City Council for action. <br />Policv Implications: <br />Annually, the City budgets for anticipated wage and benefit adj ustments for a11 <br />employees. The adjustments are based on the best information known or anticipated <br />from the metro labor market and labor settlements. <br />The City's compensationpolicy objectives include: <br />Internal Equity — maintaining a compensation and benefit package that is as <br />consistent as possible between the City's three union and two non-union groups. <br />E�ernal Equity- maintaining a compensation and benefit package that is <br />competitivewith outside organizations. <br />Focusing on these obj ectives reinforces the City's ability to pay a wage based upon the <br />duties performed. The obj ectives also support positive working relationships with <br />employees and support employeemorale. <br />Financial Im�lications <br />None, outside of the budgeted wage increases. <br />Council Action Reauested <br />Motion to approve the 2002 Law Enforcement Labor Services Partial Contract Terms as <br />follows: <br />1. Wages will increase 3.75 percent. <br />2. The Longevity Pay schedule will increase 3.75 percent. <br />3. The Educational Incentive Pay will increase 3.75 percent. <br />4. The Uniform Allowance Pay will increase 3.75 percent. <br />5. SpecialistPay will adjustto $190per month. <br />
