8. Assumes full command of major incidents, and maintains the same responsibility and authority of the <br />Chief while in command and until relieved by someone of higher authority. <br />9. Performs other duties, accepts additional responsibilities, and assumes additional authority as deemed <br />appropriate by the Lieutenant, Deputy Chief or the Chief of Police. <br />Knowledee and Skill Required <br />Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and procedures. <br />Knowledge of local geography. <br />Skill in the use of firearms and other police weapons. <br />Ability to manage, motivate, and provide leadership to subordinates. <br />Ability to deal tactfully with offenders, suspects, and the public. <br />Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations. <br />Ability to exercise an appropriate degree of confidentiality and discretion in regard to investigations and non-public <br />information. <br />� Indicates essential job functions. <br />Minimum Requirements <br />Must meet all minimum requirements in the Police Officer job description, plus three (3) years as a Licensed Peace <br />Officer in the City of Roseville, plus AA or AAS Degree with law enforcement certification. <br />Extent of Supervision <br />Works independently under the general supervision and guidance of the Lieutenant, Deputy Chief or Chief as <br />assigned. <br />Responsibility for Public Contact <br />High level of public contact requires tact, courtesy, and excellent judgment. <br />Supervision of Others <br />Assigned Police Officers/Investigators. <br />
