Roseville Planning Commission
1Iiriam E. Stone
2. Economic Stability and Growth
a. encouraging land use decisions that promote the viability of business
b. encouraging land use decisions that maintain and enhance property values
3. Zoning and Subdivision Recommendations
a. bringing the nuts & bolts implementation of a plan to reality
I believe the Roseville Planning Commission to be an entity that provides a sensible, pro-
active approach to planned orderly development and re-development. Its j ob must be to
blend the public finance elements of community services with private property rights and
a community's expectations. I see the Roseville Planning Commission has being the
body where a community's plan and vision meet with reality. The challenge is to make
them work together.
OTHER C OMMENTS
My profession experience representing cities, developers, builders and community
advocates gives me a unique advantage when making tough decisions on tough issues. I
have a strong understanding of the Metropolitan Council, its Blue Print, operations and
the various systems it uses to judge city plans. I have experience in trying to minimize
the impacts of state and federal government mandates on communities, such as EAWs,
EISs & stormwater programs. I am not a NIMBY, however, I firmly believe that a
community's plan - while an ever-changing document - must be the guiding document
for change. This ca11s for a thoughtful, deliberative approach to land use decision-
making.
Finally, I want to serve on the Roseville Planning Commission and would be honored to
have the opportunity to be part of this entity.
3
