Policy Implicahons: <br />Annually, the City budgets for anticipated wage and benefit adjustments for a11 <br />employees. The adjustments are based on the best information known or anticipated <br />frOm the metro labor market and labor settlements. <br />The City's compensation policy objectives include: <br />Internal Equity — maintaining a compensation and benefit package that is as <br />consistent as possible between the City's three union and two non-union groups. <br />E�ternal Equity- maintaining a compensation and benefit package that is <br />competitive with outside organizations. <br />Focusing on these objectives reinforces the City's ability to pay a wage based upon the <br />duties performed. The objectives also support positive working relationships with <br />employees and support employee morale. <br />Financial Implications <br />None, outside of the budgeted wage increases. <br />Council Action Requested <br />Motion to approve the 2002 Teamsters Partial Contract Terms as follows: <br />1. Wages will increase 3.75 percent. <br />2. The Longevity Pay schedule will increase 3.75 percent. <br />3. The Educational Incentive Pay will increase 3.75 percent. <br />4. The Uniform Allowance Pay will increase 3.75 percent. <br />S. Specialist Pay will adjust to $190 per month. <br />6. POST language addition to the labor agreement. <br />
