B. <br />Department Approval: Manager Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br />�,/ ����'t-C_ �U,�e,('� ReportslRecommendarions <br />Item Description: Authorization to advertise and fill the positions of Recreation <br />Program Supervisor, Program /Marketing Coordinator and <br />Interpretive Naturalist. <br />BACKGROUND <br />As a result of earlier promotions as well as two recent resignations from the <br />Parks and Recreation Department there are currently three fulltime positions <br />open. All of the positions are program oriented, specifically: Recreation Program <br />Supervisor, Program/Marketing Coordinator and Interpretive Naturalist. Attached <br />are job profiles for each position. <br />The positions are in the 2002 budget and the 2003 proposed budget. These are <br />not new positions and are in need of being replaced as soon as possible. <br />POLICY OBJECTIVE <br />All the Positions are necessary to maintain the level of programming and <br />services that residents are accustomed to. <br />FINANCIAL IMPLICATION <br />The funds for these positions are in the 2002 budget and included in the 2003 <br />proposed Parks and Recreation Budget. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Based on the goal of providing and maintaining maximum program and facility <br />development and offerings at the lowest possible costs, staff recommends <br />approval to advertise and fill the three positions as proposed. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion authorizing staff to advertise and fill the positions of Recreation Program <br />Supervisor, Program /Marketing Coordinator and Interpretive Naturalist. <br />
