Olivia Ogwangi, 3rd Place
Grade 8, Crystal Archer
Roseville Area Diddle School
Human Fights Essay
When I was in first grade I was pulled aside and asked if I could.s eak English and if rn
p g y
parents had gone to school. Just because of my last name and I was a minority, I was picked out of
among other kids in my class and was asked that question. Now think for a moment anal ut ourself in
p '
Amy shoes; how would you feel being stereotyped and profiled by another people because they think you
are different you are not capable of doing anything. As you 'reflect on this thought, the rest of my paper
talks about how, many people get racially profiled and they just don't know about it. what is' the
definition of stereotyping? Sometimes people ask if she is able speak English and if need to go to an ELL
class (English language learning). That is just because of her Kenyan accent, she that
always tells people
English is her third language, (you should give credit for learning knowing three languages fluentl y) . I
have to admit that I have stereotyped people, but now I realize that I am going against their Human
Rights (A- rticle 2: Freedom from discrimination). Many people encounter this issue every single day and
